This 75 minute practice is designed to offer a perfect equation of stretching, strengthening, balancing and restoration. Based in the classic poses of hatha yoga, Emily weaves in variety, play, improvisational moments and a light-hearted approach to finding YOGA: union of body, mind and spirit. Fully accessible to all, our practice moves through a variety of poses, with some consistent sequences, including safely practiced forward folds, twists, hip openers, and gentle back bends. Each session begins with deep attention to the breath and concludes with a series of restorative poses leading into our final Sivasana resting pose.
In this gentle 75 minute exploration, you will be guided into the subtle aspects of your physical experience. We will begin standing, and through a series of prompts, I will guide you into a journey from the ground up. Inspired by the breath, we begin noticing the feet, and step by step, breath by breath, we move into other parts of the body. Emily’s background as a dancer emerges as she encourages you with compassion and light heartedness to improvise and move in natural and creative ways to clear out the day’s accumulated tension and unwind for a serene evening. The practice organically evolves onto the mat, into hip and spinal releases, and gradually into your restorative sivasana pose. This is a FULLY ACCESSIBLE practice. Modification and alternatives abound for those sensitive in wrists and knees.
At the end of the day, feel your stress and anxiety melt away. In this unique experience, students enjoy the benefits of a total nervous system reset. Let go to the sound of Walter's soothing voice, as he skillfully guides you into a series of ground based postures designed to create space in our bodies, minds and hearts. Practitioners are guided through a gentle series of modified postures while using props that provide support and comfort. Gather yoga props or simply use household items like pillows and blankets for your journey into the bliss of letting go.

This Vinyasa practice is designed for all students interested in expanding their wings. Regardless of your previous experience, you will find this class both challenging and nurturing. Emily’s love of movement and choreography flows in her creative approach to sequencing from start to finish. She may employ a drum during cat-cows and invite impovisational movement toward a standing foward fold. Salutations are varied. The standing sequences include moments of simplicity, as well as twists and turns that will keep your mind present in the practice. We play with expansion and contraction, as we explore equal and opposite lines of energy throughout the body. This is a wholistic practice of integrating body, mind, and spirit, accessible to ALL who desire more freedom to fly!
