Having a lifetime relationship with movement as a dancer, the practice of yoga came naturally to Emily Wiadro almost two decades ago. Through her own physical and emotional transformation within a couple years of diving into the yoga practice, Emily found herself passionate about yoga as a life mission. Shortly afterwards, Emily acquired her 200 hour teacher training through Lotus Gardens Yoga in CT. After moving to Brattleboro in 2007, Emily began her training with Joseph and Lillian Le Page of IYT. Through IYT, Emily studied 500 hours becoming educated by the many tools available through the science of yoga for focusing and unifying body, mind and soul (yoga=unity).
As the founder and experienced primary teacher at healixyoga, Emily offers her 20+ years in creating a truly compassionate practice which students find safe, supportive, and strengthening. Accessibility is Emily's main mission for ALL. You can also find Emily teaching online at www.OmPractice.com which is a live and interactive platform.

The word "yoga" means "to yoke". This ancient healing practice of Yoga draws our attention inward, through mindful breathing (pranayama) and attention to our body through asana (the poses of yoga). Through the light-hearted, sangha centered, therapeutically based practice at healix, students find a new sense of space and ease of being.

"I have been actively trying to arrange my work schedule to attend Emily's classes, because they are so beneficial. I appreciate several things about these classes-- one is that Emily is incredibly thoughtful about cueing in a way that helps ease into each posture with intention. As someone with some physical issues, I appreciate knowing the intent and alignment that is being sought, and all the places I can stop or modify. I also appreciate that she incorporates the sanskrit terms, English terms, and a decription for each posture. She actively observes us and provides gentle redirection first and then even direct guidance to us individually when needed to help us better access the intent of each posture with what we are showing up with. As a relative beginner, this is so helpful and I feel like I'm growing my understanding of yoga. Finally, Emily somehow transmits connection and healing energy through her classes. When taking her class, you really feel like you are in community and sharing energy with the others practicing. I always leave feeling incredibly grounded and also as if there has been some space clearing inside my body with so much of my tightness lessened; leaving what's no longer needed and taking with me space for what's next. Sometimes, I think the more simple classes really are the most complex and it takes a real teacher to help a class feel this accessible. So happy to have found her class. Much gratitude!"

"I have been practicing yoga for over 20 years and have taken 100s and 100s of classes. I am a Chiropractor and have taught the anatomy and physiology portion of 3 different yoga teacher trainings... I have been taking Emily's classes on-line, two times a week for about 14 months, and my body is transformed into feeling and being MORE open...soft....flexible and strong all at the same time!! Healix classes are crafted to allow the body, mind and spirit to open and integrate step by step.... the results are profound. I am deeply grateful to her and the warm and loving community she has created on-line...."
"You emerge from each class feeling stronger, more relaxed and happy. Within 6 months of coming to her Vinyasa classes, my breathing improved and I found relief from a decade of sinus problems." Mimi M.
"My daughter gave me a gift certificate for a few classes, and when I had finished them, I immediately signed up for more. The gentle stretches and deep breathing seem to invigorate the entire body, relieving the stress pockets that I normally carry. I feel as though she incorporates mind, body, and soul in the restful yet challenging movements." Rachel B.
Our community has grown outside the bubble of Brattleboro during this year of online classes. We are a sangha of humans of all ages, shapes, colors and origins. Our community is one of loving kindness and acceptance of ourselves and one another.
"I left each class feeling somehow lighter, and looser, and also more at ease in the world."

"...in my past, after taking a yoga class, I would congratulate myself for doing every move at all costs.(even if it meant getting hurt). But now I congratulate myself for NOT doing moves that could risk injury. I’ve learned compassion for my body working with you over the past 2-3 years!" P.F.
